Mining and Building Contractors Limited performs activities related to underground mining development. We specialize in underground excavations which include vertical and lateral (horizontal) development headings.

Our operations with AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, involve mine development. The major types of development headings are ramps, reef drives, raises, winzes, crosscuts and large excavations. In addition we construct bulkheads, and conduct diamond drilling and other services.

All work is carried out to standards as laid down by the Employer and other regulatory bodies.

To date, MBC has rendered immense and invaluable contributions towards the expansion and growth of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, Obuasi Mine, by a result-oriented team of professional mining engineers, a host of skilled miners in various supervisory and operational capacities and state-of-the-art machinery. Our current contract with AGA stipulates development of up to 2000 straight metres per month.

 MBC ensures that all mining and explosive regulations as well as all safety standards and instructions are adhered to. The objective of our operations is to achieve high performances at minimal cost of production while protecting our environment with SAFETY AS OUR FIRST VALUE.
